It was a lazy Sunday morning In Japan , and I was all cuddled in my blanket when my phone rang,
“Moshi Moshi Rajput san, ohayogozaimasu(good morning) !!” the sweet sound came from other side, but believe me when you have got only one day in the week to sleep after a donkey laid life at client’s place, you feel like banging your phone to the wall.
Anyways “Moshi moshi Kanika San , kya hua itni subah subah phone ??” I said.
“Hey common yaar, wake up and get ready in 20 minutes , we have to catch train for Nara, its 2hours from this place you know”
“Nara !!!!! but why ??” I exclaimed, still irritated since my sleep was disturbed.
“Are idiot we are going there to watch Sakura,it’s the second last day or else we will miss this chance for this year.Ab bahut bakwas ho gayi and meet me downstairs within 20 min” saying this Kanika hang the phone.
Hearing SAKURA , I was filled with energy and enthusiasm, all my sleep was rafooochakkar within seconds . After all this was once in a year opportunity to see the nature’s beauty at its best and especially for people who are foreigners in Japan ,its a must watch thing.
Ok ok…Let me tell you about Sakura in a bit detail
Sakura is cherry blossom in Japan ,its celebrated here since ages and holds a important part in Japanese culture. The important thing about this is , it blossoms only for a week, but the beauty of it will make you speechless.Even a nerd like me was flattered.
And sakura viewing is called “Hanami”.
So here I was hurrying to finish off my essential morning chores 🙂 and was ready & all set with bagpack carrying snacks and camera(my sweet heart) in other hand. Soon we scurried off to station. Train came at sharp 7:55:10 sec.Had we been late even by 30 seconds we would have missed the train, such is the beauty of the Japanese punctuality.
All throughout the journey I was wondering about the scene I would be watching, once I reach there. So far I had simply read and heard from my friends and Japanese clients about this event , and the description itself had left me aghast to admire it.
In train we could be differentiated from far distance that we don’t belong to this country, not because of our appearance , but we were the only source of giggle , laughter and all sorts of noise.
As the destination came closer we could see the trees laden with beautiful sakura, my eyes were glittering and I was looking from the train window as if a 4 year old watches elephant 🙂 for the first time.
Soon we were running in the park to view sakura.
It was a treat for eyes 🙂 .For once I got confused if I am dreaming or in some wonderland. “ Can there be such a beautiful place on earth? “Nature is no doubt full of scenic beauty.
I was ferociously taking pics.
There I could see people enjoying , and having picnic parties. There were deers in the park roaming freely whom one could feed the deer food.Soon I was playing with them and it would have been difficult to differentiate who was the actual deer,If I did not have 2 legs 🙂
We met people who had been travelling all the way from southern Japan and had come to Osaka for Hanami. They would be travelling all the way till northern Japan to enjoy this beauty. Generally at this time of the year native Japanese would be on vacations with their family & friends and would be covering the entire Japan as the Sakura bloom keeps moving from one place to another.
It was a real fun there watching beautiful trees spread across a large area. After a funfilled day and with plenty of pictures & memories to last a lifetime I returned in the evening with a silent promise to myself “I will come here again with my girlfriend 🙂 ”
