There is one special thing about us which differentiates from rest of the world We give a shit about rules & regulations. And when it comes about managing hygiene and cleanliness we see the world outside our house as one big dump yard.
We are big hypocrites of this world. We will make sure that our house remains as clean as possible and give a damn about outside world, which is outside our homes.
The moment we step out of our home we make sure that the litter never reaches to its destination i.e. dustbin.
In India, irrespective of climate outside, one needs to carry an umbrella, because you never know when your neighbor may come in the form of Indra & drones and shower litter on your head. After all you were walking on the street which is just below his window and one big dustbin.
Visit any government office, elevators, stairs , corners of the wall and you can find how creative we are with spray painting. No, its not the spray colors , we have environment friendly approach . We make use of beetle leafs (pan ) & gutkhas to paint these walls. We also make sure that we definitely leave imprints of this fine art at those places where the board is put not to spit or create litter. This special skill runs deep in our DNA now.
Visit any of our monuments, along with the names of historical celebrities , there will be inscription like XX loves YY with shapes of hearts and arrows . The real Kamdev will feel shy looking at those engravings.
In India , walls have multipurpose use. Not only do they provide security to those living in the confines of the boundary but also they are hunting ground of all those people who want to relieve them. These walls never run dry and are constant source of uric acid and jasmine smell which we are now quite used to. I wonder why no one has yet thought about any idea of setting up urea plant besides all these walls. It can be rich source of urea and help bridge huge fiscal deficit due to fertilizer import. My gut feeling says we can be major exporter of urea to other countries.
We eat in luxury cars but throw the litter outside , after all our roads are one big dustbin . Aren’t they ?
Visit any railway station and our railway tracks are perfect example how wonderfully we are using them are litter and shit grounds . After all , our morning rituals start along the railway tracks .
Any time if one travels in a bus or train , post having our nicely wrapped snacks ,the litter is quietly passed below our seats. We are so smart !!
If there would have been a competition to spread litter around, we would be world champions in it. No one can match the excellence we have in this skill. We are trained in this special skill since our birth , might be even before that.
I don’t have any shame to call ourselves as Great Indian Litterbug
