Private India

There are very few writers who create an excitement in minds of their readers when they announce about their upcoming novel. Ashwin Sanghi is no exception to that list of premium writers who has created a class for himself. This time Ashwin has come along with James Patterson, who is renowned in the literary world.

The moment Blogadda announced they are giving away autographed copy of the new novel I was too excited and prayed that I  get a copy of it. Yesterday when the book arrived I finished it in a one go. This itself speaks volume , how captivating it is.

About the novel : The story begins with a discovery of dead body which is found in a hotel . The person was strangulated to death and the killer left a yellow scarf . It’s followed by string of other murders in the city of high profile women one after the other. Each time the killer leaves behind a yellow scarf and certain artifacts which were later decoded to be the 9 avatars of Maa Durga ( hindu Goddess ).

The case was handed over to Private India, a leading investigating agency ,  headed by  Santosh Wagh who himself is battling an inner battle. He turns alcoholic after his wife and son are killed in road accident. He is a very sharp detective helped by a team of brilliant people who are experts in their own fields- Mubeen , Hari,Nisha, Jack. His task is to stop the next murder and expose the serial killer behind this mystery. While investigating this case he comes across several  high profile people involved in sex , crime, prostitution and money laundering.

The clock is ticking fast and Santosh needs to tackle an underworld don, a godman, a corrupt system and his own fears. His own organization comes under risk of destruction. The climax of the novel will blow off your mind, so the secret should better not to written here :):)

USP of the novel : The thriller plot will keep the reader hooked till the end. You would be excited & eager to know what happens next and this thirst will increase as you read more.Ashwin has again lived up to his reader’s expectation and his one liners are wonderful.

Quotations worth mentioning :

“Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence “

” Life has no meaning without the presence of death.Life is simply the absence of death. The fools of this world labor to prevent death, unmindful of the fact that it is death that will set them free.”

” Like a garrote, water is also a murder weapon.Be it a rumaal, a tub of water or a pillow- they are all switches. Flick the switch and you can turn life into death.”

” The fact that one woman’s hobby could often be another woman’s hubby “

” One only realizes the value of air when one is deprived of it and only begins to value life in the face of death.”

” It is said that politics is the second oldest profession in the world but that it bears a close resemblance to the oldest ” , said Santosh. ” it seems that Ragini Sharma mastered both “.

” Policing is about  keeping as many balls as one can in the air while simultaneously protecting ones’s own”.

“Men who are very active in their professional lives tend to be  equally active in their personal ones”

“There are always second chances – both  in metal and in men”
