Man is a very peculiar being. Ever since he came to this planet he has been discovering avenues for his growth, towards a better life, better health, better standard of living , free of any ill will , sickness ,diseases etc. He has been working day and night to make sure he gets what he wants.
He has been occupying this planet which is spread for thousands of kilometers, separated from sea, mountains and rivers. There are people in every nook and corner of the world. With the advent of technology and growth he not only invented various devices to make his life comfortable but also to keep him connected. One such invention is digital transformation . It has connected people across the world through internet, mobile phones, desktops etc. No doubt technology has brought people together. It hardly takes any time for a person sitting in corner to connect instantly with a person in other part of world with a click of mouse.
All this has happened with better communication and technology. But at the same time we are forgetting one important aspect of human nature and survival i.e.the meaning of real togetherness.
We have become so engrossed with gadgets , devices, and digital world that we are forgetting real human values. We tend to ignore meeting in person. We are forgetting how it feels to meet someone in person and express our views. A family might be staying under a roof but hardly speaking to each other in person, the reason is the same – hooked to digital world through their mobile phones, facebook, twitter, whatsapp.
We have become so insensitive today that to even wish somebody on their birthday or send marriage invitation we prefer to send a whatsapp message instead of calling and speaking to them in person.
Recently I wall hell shocked to see a news where a person had died in a road accident and bystanders were taking pictures & videos instead of helping the injured. This particular incident shook me till inside and I took a decision to break free from the clutches of smart phones and build meaningful relationships with our family members, friends , neighbors and the like.
We all remember the times when there were no mobile phones.Life was so easy going and tension free. We were not hooked to online world late night and would rather hear stories from our grandparents , have discussion with our siblings and would wake up early. We would exercise and play some sport in the park & playground. Well nature helps in its own way to connect with us and align us with the realm. We need to honor and respect human feelings , human touch and bring forth the real being which is inside all of us. But somehow it is dying a slow death due to this digital world engulfing our lives.
