The attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama on 14 Feb 2019 had shook the entire country. There was rage & anger in the eyes of each Indian and it was clearly evident that Pak sponsored terrorist had crossed the Laxman Rekha of our patience. Each and every individual wanted only one thing – Revenge. Within hours of attack, PM had made it clear that martyrdom of our brave-hearts would be avenged with place & time of our choosing.

It was only a matter of time when something big was to be done. Pakistan knew very well that India would retaliate and Pak army was all prepared and on high alert.

There was never an iota of doubt about the capability of our forces- Army, Air Force or Navy.
History of India is replete with examples of their gallantry and bravado. What always lacked was a political will. Don’t forget after 26/11 Mumbai attacks , IAF was pleading to do similar attack but the ruling dispensation had no guts to say yes. Even during Kargil war, Atal Bihari Vajpayee didn’t allow Air Force to cross LOC.

Amidst so much of complexity & pressure there had be a plan which was not only clinical but made sure next level escalation was also avoided. It is the beauty, planning ,war game & professionalism of our forces that such a clinical & lethal attack was done . 12 fighter jets not only crossed LOC, but they went deep into Pakistan, attacked terror camps in Balakot and returned safely without a single scratch. Pakistan was kicked with their pants down. Such was the meticulous planning and execution.

Before this attack couple of diversionary tactics were done to confuse the enemy – like deploying 100 company of CAPF in J&K, starting bus service between Muzaffarbad & Srinagar etc.

Narendra Modi took biggest political risk of his career to give a go ahead to our forces for this attack and earlier surgical strike after URI attack.I .Due to the looming Lok Sabha elections even the window of avenge to be taken was very less. India squeezed Pakistan on all the fronts- economic, diplomatic and finally with this air strike.

Since the Pulwama attack opposition leaders have been constantly attacking Modi and trying to blame him for all the misfortunes of the past. But now when this attack has been successfully done, he too should get credit. It cannot be one way street- blame him for any terrorist attack and not give him credit when such strike happen. You may hate him and term his followers as “bhakts” but also give him credit where its due for taking such decisions.

Remember, such risk taking and bold attitude differentiates leaders from followers.

26th Feb 2019 will be etched in history of India.Only a man of Modi’s caliber would have done 3 surgical strikes in his single tenure.
